Mark has been playing drums since the age of 12 and is still as passionate today as he was at 12 (maybe more). Anyone who knows Mark will remember bands constantly playing in his basement on Whaley Street in Freeport. Original music was always a staple in his life with his high school band Rufus Hill playing all original songs. Mark says, "I love playing in New York and Long Island and feel fortunate to play for family, great friends and fans that support us at some of the best venue's anywhere. The first song I played along with was "Stormy" and I've been hooked on drums ever since, it's still one of my favorite songs.
Tom Munster - Trombone
Music has always been a great source of joy in Tom's life. He played trumpet through his academic career and actually had a band aboard one of the ships he worked on as a Maritime Mariner. After years of working and raising a family, friends from SUNY Maritime called to "get the band back together". Playing with and for friends, old and new, makes every gig and practice special. Tom's says, "If we all keep this up the old folk's home is gonna be a blast!"
Eric Frank - Trumpet
Eric Frank has been playing the trumpet since he is 12 years old. Eric Frank has played in marching bands, jazz bands, swing bands, rock bands--you name it, Eric Frank played in it. Eric Frank is happily married with three beautiful children. Eric Frank is a business man who loves to play his trumpet every chance he gets. When Eric Frank is not on tour with The Eric Frank Band, featuring Eric Frank and the Eric Frank Horns, Eric Frank loves to perform with Behind Closed Doors.
BA Fagerland - Vocals
Whether singing heavy metal with her first band or leading music in church, or playing guitar for preschoolers, music has been an essential part of life for B.A. Fagerland. She's believes in putting every ounce of energy she has into entertaining as well as continually trying to grow and stretch vocally with every song. She absolutely loves singing, performing with her friends and fellow band mates at local venues and belonging to the incredible community of musicians and live music enthusiasts here on Long Island.
Kevin Yorke - Guitar
As a kid, Kevin was instantly attracted to the guitar when he heard the opening riffs of Mountain's "Mississipi Queen." After playing in a wide variety of bands, Kevin took a long break from performing. Some old bandmates tracked him down and asked if he could still make a cheesy 70's "wocka-wocka" sound with his wah-wah pedal. Playing in BCD allows Kevin to hang out with good friends, play some great music and enjoy people having fun!
Don Mangels
Don has been playing his trusty 76' Fender P-bass in various cover and original bands for over 30 years now. In 2007 he answered an ad on Craig's List for a band with horns looking for a bassist. "I always loved the BIG sound of horn bands and never had the opportunity. These guys are the nicest people and this band has sure come a long way in a short period of time." Don uses D'Addario Nylon Tapewound strings and MarkBass amplifiers. Visit www.donmangels.com for a complete schedule and fun stuff.
Al Pantino - Guitar
Al has been playing lead guitar for Behind Closed Doors for almost three years. As BCD's Musical Director, Al mixes the set list with a variety of music; from blues, to Mo-Town, to R&B, as well as a few orginals. Al says, "When the band kicks it into high gear, its a great ride!"
Ron D'Ambrosi - Saxophone
Ron has been playing the saxophone since childhood and in fear of sounding unintelligent would rather let his playing exemplify the moral of the story. You can never practice too much.
The "Mystery Man" - Key Boards
Thank You for supporting local live music here on Long Island !
